Are there habits you can take immediately to improve drastically your quality of life? Irrespective of how the quality of life is defined, the fact remains that in the pursuit of a good life, we tend to find fulfillment in positive expectations. It doesn’t really matter what your idea of what a good life is, the most important thing is that you create for yourself a life that you enjoy every day.
Whatever your definition of the good life may be, it’s vital that you enjoy and get meaning from the day-to-day while on your journey.
This is something we all have in common, regardless of the particular path we’re on. Your daily experiences — your tasks, your schedule, the places you spend your energy and time — are what make up your life. And that’s all we’ve really got. Life.
It can be very frustrating when your quality of life is suffering. However, life doesn’t have to overwhelm, and it most certainly doesn’t have to frustrate.
There may be things that you want to do, but there is something outside of your control, stopping you from being able to. If feeling like the life you’re living could be improved, making a few lifestyle changes may be able to help.
By improving our habits, we can improve the quality of our lives drastically.
Although creating a healthy habit is not easy, it’s worth the effort. It would be best to try practicing these easy habits with continuous motivation and deep faith in yourself. When you want to improve yourself, you have to choose the smallest action in the beginning because you have to match how motivated you are to how capable you are to actually do something fruitful.
Living a healthy lifestyle and making wise choices can go a long way in improving your quality of life.
Just as everyone has their own definition of success, we all have slightly different ideas of what constitutes a high-quality life. However, there are some habits everyone can take to make life more enjoyable. Just following my golden habits can really improve your life drastically and boost your personal well-being and make each day more meaningful, without drastic change.
Habit #1: Connect With People
One sure fire habit to develop that will boost overall happiness is the act of connecting and spreading love. Pick up the phone and tell someone that you appreciate them, or simply listen to what someone has to say. You’ll be surprised and just how satisfying it will be to take an interest in someone else’s life.
We are social beings. We crave connections to others individually, to our communities, to our world.
Pay special attention to your family, your adored friends, your colleagues and your neighbors. Explore and strengthen your connection to a Higher Power. And be open enough to enjoy the spontaneous connections that come from making a new friend on vacation or sharing a witty remark with your seatmate on the bus. Genuine curiosity and kindness are an amazing way to foster connections.
Nowadays, people are obsessed with advancing their careers, so they push crazy hours at the office and neglect the people around them.
If there is one thing you should know is that you are not irreplaceable. Long after you have left your job, they will continue without you. Therefore, don’t neglect your relationships with the people who care about you. Your friends and family deserve your time because they are the ones who will take care of you when you need it most.

Another lifestyle change that may help you improve your quality of life is to be purposeful about who you spend your time with.
If you spend a lot of time with negative people, it may be impacting the way you view the things around you. In this case, it could be helpful to make new friendships and connections with people that have a more positive perspective.
Are you proud to be associated with the people you called your friends? If your answer is yes, then you have great friends, but if not, you need to do some quick clean up.
When the people you spend time with are critical, cynical, or bitter, their negative traits will rub off on you. A friend’s influence can make you set your goals and work towards achieving them. A good friend will always encourage and motivate you to achieve your goals in life.
You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.
This is precisely why you should carefully consider who you’re spending time with. Let go of relationships that bring you down instead of lifting you up. And spend time with people who know how to nurture and share happiness. Since happiness is contagious, it’s one of the easiest ways to create positivity in your life.
Habit #2: Knowledge Is Power
If there is one thing all humans should do, it is keep on learning and trying new things. Life can become stale when you don’t challenge yourself and explore new ideas. Has there been something that you’ve always wanted to learn? What are you waiting for?
All you need to do is whip out your Smartphone and Google one interest or another, and you will be flooded with ideas from across the globe.
The benefit of trying new things is twofold. First, you keep your creative mind intact, and your imagination gets lit like a young kid. Second, you keep your body and mind in shape. Studies have shown that attempting new things increases grey matter in the motor parts of the brain.
Make each day part of a perpetual quest for knowledge.
Learning is an essential component of happiness, satisfying our minds need for stimulation and to be challenged. It also can help put our lives in perspective as we gain knowledge about all of the trauma occurring around the world. You will find yourself quickly becoming a well-informed, well-rounded and happier individual.
Knowledge is the key to unlocking many doors. Advancement in your education would lead to progress in your career.
Learning affects various spheres of your life and improves the quality of life. It allows us to grow, mature, and gain experiential knowledge of the world. It allows us to put life into perspective, and ultimately achieve our dreams by laying the groundwork for our personal and professional lives.
Hobbies are adequately beneficial to your wellness as these activities declutter your mind and free it from negative thoughts.
Hobbies also open up your world while you focus on your hobbies, you get the benefits of the nice endorphins from the creativity while the time seems to slip by. You don’t have to commit to huge blocks of time. As long as you do a little bit every single day, but you do it every single day, over time, this habit will help you to be a much happier and well-rounded person.
Habit #3: Don't Worry Yourself Sick
Many people allow worry to immobilize them. One can worry wisely by turning worried into constructive action. When you find yourself worrying too much, seek constructive ways to deal with your problem. Better still get or seek mature advice.
Quality of life has very little to do with what someone has but how they perceive their situation.
Essentially, that means even if your situation doesn’t change, you could still find a way to feel like your quality of life has improved. One of the ways that you can accomplish this is through learning to control your thoughts. Practicing meditation can help you to lower stress and anxiety and feel better about your situation.
This might be a bit of a bitter pill to swallow, but life is not always fair.
However, it is still a good life, if you choose it. You can dwell on the thing that happens to you that you feel unfair, or you can move on. It is easier said than done, but it isn’t worth your time to think about all the bad stuff when you can get up and go on.
Life is full of troubles, and they are most likely never going to end until you die. Would you rather allow stress to shorten your life span?
Get off that train and de-stress yourself. Don’t make life harder than it already is. No matter how big or small they may seem, tolerations have a way of accumulating and weighing you down. Learning how to identify and eliminate your tolerations will give you more energy for doing things that you enjoy.
Certain people tend to be very hard on themselves, especially the overachievers among us. To be honest, it isn’t worth the effort and frustration.
If you don’t know it by now, everybody makes mistakes, and you are no different. The best thing you can do is to learn from your mistakes, not crucify yourself over them. When you are too hard on yourself and focus on your shortcomings, you tend to miss out on what you have accomplished.
When we see life in terms of lack or what we do not have we cannot appreciate the beautiful nuances our life brings.
Learning to see and appreciate all that we do have makes us grateful. Grateful people see the good while negative people complain. Learn to see everything as opportunity. Shift from selfishness into gratefulness. This attitude gets noticed by others, it makes us more attractive, and from this, more possibilities open up.
Habit #4: Health Is The New Wealth
Your body is the vehicle that carries you through your life. Love yourself by treating your body with respect and care. Fuel it well with fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein. Move it daily. Help yourself age well by staying flexible, protecting your skin from sun and exercising your mind.
When people think of physical health, they often think solely of exercise and a healthy diet.
However, there is a third crucial component to getting in amazing shape, and that is daily activity. As more and more jobs have become stationary desk jobs, it is recommended to make an effort to walk 10,000 steps each and every day. Try taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or walking to the local coffee shop instead of driving. These little steps can help you get in great shape, but also can result in an improved mood and quality of life.
Moreover, the quality of your sleep is one of the few areas of life where you can’t cheat on yourself. At least not for too long.
It is absolutely essential to give your body the time it needs to recharge the batteries each and every night, and getting a full night of sleep is a big part of living a happy and healthy life. Studies have found that getting adequate sleep can help you live longer, improve your memory, and increase awareness.
Other than improving your physical health, working out regularly pumps up creativity and enhances your cognitive skills.
It’s also an effective way to build endurance and get energized. And if you’re still not convinced, exercising also elevates mood by boosting the production of endorphins – hormones that act as natural anti-depressants.
Adding more movement into our day is an important part of being happy.
Keeping the body active as it goes through life helps to make sure your life is active well into its golden years. As with any habits, start small and then continue to add activities that you enjoy that also help you break a sweat. Remember: you’re only one workout away from a good mood.
Habit #5: Broaden Your Path
One of the best ways to add vitality to your life is through daily inspiration. What’s your inspiration? What inspires and motivates you to push towards your dreams? Give yourself the added boost needed by seeking out some form of information, whatever it may be.
Choose not to be static, and believe in the power of growth. You ought to improve in everything you are doing and in that way you attain growth.
No one is going to live your life for you, and neither can you live someone else’s life. So stop being so envious of others and comparing your life to theirs. You have no idea what they have been through or what they are going through.
Being human is amazing in part because we are blessed with choice. Everything we do and don’t do is governed by choice.
Your happiness is also a choice, and no one can dictate or take charge of your happiness but you. You are the only one who is in charge when it comes to your happiness. It goes hand in hand with being content. Not everyone has the same capabilities, fortune, wealth, health, looks, etc., but all of us can decide when something is enough.

Want to reach a goal? Think towards the finish line.
A sprinter’s mental image is of crossing the finish line first, and they see their competitors coming in at a very distant second. Before a putt is taken, the golfer has already drawn a mental picture of the path the ball will take and visualizes it going into the hole. These are the habits of people at the top of their game, and it’s not just in sports either. To be happy and successful, do the work while visualizing the result.
Do one thing that you’re afraid of every single day. Take your leisure time to the next level by developing this habit.
What are you afraid to do? Why are you afraid to do it. Too often, we can’t get ahead because of how scared we are of something. Fear and anxiety seem to be crippling to us. Overcome your fears and force yourself to do just one thing you’re afraid of doing.
Habit #6: It Takes Only a Smile
The effects of smiling on stress have been well-documented. Smiling helps to send a strong impulse to the mind, which then alters your neurochemistry. Studies have shown that people who were told to hold a genuine Duchenne smile on their faces had lower heart rates after stressful activities.
The simple act of smiling can drastically change the way you feel at any given time.
Smiling can prompt your body to alter the neurochemistry of the brain, resulting in a sunnier disposition. Numerous studies have shown smiling reduces stress, regardless if the smile is genuinely caused by positive emotions. So if you are feeling down, turn that frown upside down and put a smile on your face!
Being positive can often be seen as naivety. Actually, optimism increases job performance, creativity, ability to weather stress and self esteem.
Optimism can be used in how you talk to yourself in the face of adversity, explain past events and think about the future. In the quest for the good life, positive expectations can be self-fulfilling. Cultivating your ability to be optimistic is beneficial to your health and your success.
Our painful emotions cannot defeat us. We do not need to rid ourselves of negative emotions and nor do we need to over attached to them.
All painful emotions will come and go through the natural process of life. Since the brain is naturally wired to force negativity as a defense mechanism, a smile has the ability to counteract that attitude with a happy positivity. In fact, you can even train yourself to smile more, and therefore effectively train yourself to react more positively to life events, no matter how gloomy they may be.
Smiling is an easy way to tell people that you’re nice and neighborly. If you smile more often, it will influence the people around you to feel friendlier and more at ease.
Smiling really is contagious. If you smile at the people you meet, half of them will automatically smile back at you. This creates a chain reaction, spreading happiness and goodwill. When this symbol of friendliness stretches across your face, it can make you seem more approachable to others.
Habit #7: Clarify Your Desires
When you are clear on what is important to you, there comes an incredible sense of freedom. You no longer live in a world of social comparison. You are running your own race. Goals, big decisions and small habits are surmountable and invigorating because you have a clear picture of what you want your life to stand for.
Clarity does not come easily. It also evolves throughout your life, which requires gracious flexibility. But it is worth it. Spend some quality time getting clear.
Did you ever realize that minimalists seem more relaxed compared to the rest of us? Don’t let things clutter up your space if you don’t use them. Instead, make more space for the things that spark joy. The more things you own, the more time and energy you need to spend on maintaining them and keeping stuff organized.
Stillness allows the mind and body to reflect and gain clarity. Stillness and quiet allows us to receive life’s subtle messages, clues, and guidance.
Without stillness, we go through life in a state of distraction, confusion, while only going through the motions. We don’t fully experience life and what is unfolding before us. Because we’re so busy with DOING, we’re not BEING. One could argue that in the doing is the being. While this is true, there is also something to be said about release and taking the time to pause.
Clarity is more than just a feeling. There’s an emotional state associated with it, but it’s more than that. Clarity is a certain vibe.
When you’re really clear, you can sense that vibe through every cell of your being. Your mind and emotions are centered. Every part of you is on the same page. There’s no doubt or uncertainty. This is a powerful state of being to experience.
There are plenty of outside influences that will impact your well-being, but you’re the one who must adjust for those influences in order to achieve your goals.
Clarity is of itself a decision within your control. Rare are the moments of accidental clarity. If you want clarity all of the time, you have to practice it just like you would anything else. Control over your life and clarity are a matter of persistence. You must create a priority list. Then you must practice going over that priority list so that it is fresh in your mind whenever it is time to make an important decision.
